STEP INSIDE
A blend of traditional and modern, our kitchen with its tiled units . . .

. . . stone worktop and gleaming stainless steel equipment (including washer dryer, dishwasher & integrated microwave), has everything a cook in a hurry wants. You can wash up while looking through the window at the birds in the garden. Look the other way, and there’s a well-used pine table against a timber-framed wall. Perfect for a leisurely breakfast.
The living room

Light and airy with a view over the front garden to the Hamlet, the living room with its beamed ceiling is perfect for a summer break, while its inglenook fireplace with wood burner and free basket of logs make it really cosy in the winter. You can lounge on the chaise longue, preen yourself on our throne armchairs while watching television (there is Freeview) or listening to a CD, or simply share a candlelit supper for two.
Straight up the crooked wooden staircase (no hand rail!) and . . .

. . . you reach the study

With its ancient elm floor, antique desk, easy chair and ia small selection of books, the first-floor study is the perfect place to shut yourself away for some peace and quiet. With broadband access, you can also knock off a few emails.
The stairs are steep and uneven and may not be suitable if you are unsteady on your legs or have poor vision.
The bedroom

From the study, through a rustic door with wattle screen above you, you reach the double bedroom. Filled with sunlight when the weather’s good, it has a comfy bed with four feather pillows and a feather and down duvet (the bed linen is included in the price), and ample cupboard space, screened with vintage-style curtains. The fitted wardrobe is in the study. If you prefer hollowfibre bedding, please let us know when you make your reservation. There's also a radio / CD player kept in the curtained shelving next to the bed. If you need to get up early (Ugh!), there's also an alarm clock.
The bathroom

Small but perfectly formed, our downstairs bathroom has a bath you can stretch out in with a brass shower above, pictures on the wall and just enough space for a cup of tea or glass of wine to complete your relaxation. All towels are included in the price.
Outside
The walled garden . . .

. . . filled with shrubs and flowers, has a bench alongside the rear wall and a table and chairs on the patio next to a wall-mounted verdigris fountain.

There is a good supply of logs, kindling and firelighters in the shed, available at no extra charge. Also in the shed is an upright freezer, and guests are welcome to use the top drawer. There's room to store your bikes as well. If the weather holds, why not use the barbecue? But please keep it on a patio away from plants and the grass.
Parking is available in the lane.
